Mobile Health offers the COVID-19 antibody (IgG) test provided by BioReference Laboratories. The test may be used to investigate if a person has been exposed to the virus in the past and has antibodies.
Q: What is the COVID-19 Antibody (IgG) Test?
The Antibody Test is a semi-quantitative measurement of the SARS-CoV-2 specific IgG antibody levels. These antibodies correlate with the patient’s immune response after COVID-19 infection. Based on early evidence, IgG is expected to be elevated in the majority of patients by 14 days after the onset of symptoms.

The Antibody (IgG) Test is most commonly used to investigate whether a person has been exposed to the virus in the past and has developed antibodies. It is not an indication of immunity and does not provide information pertaining to an active infection. Antibody testing from BioReference assists employers to make decisions about people returning to work as social distancing and shelter-in-place restrictions ease.

This is a serology blood test collected at a Mobile Health clinic by a healthcare professional.

The BioReference antibody test has a true positive rate of 97.6% with less than .7% false-positive reported.
Q: Is it approved by the FDA?
The test has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

Results will be available within a few days as BioReference is treating Mobile Health samples as STAT.

Q: Does the Antibody Test diagnose COVID-19?
Results from COVID-19 antibody testing should not be used to diagnose or exclude SARS-CoV-2 infection or to inform infection status.
Positive results may be due to past or present infection with non-SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strains, such as coronavirus HKU1, NL63, OC43, or 229E.
